Event Contract Design and Risk-Transfer Products
Contracts designed, priced, or specified at Interactive Brokers for listing on ForecastEx.
- Live Hurricane wind gust contracts (2026). Storm-specific contracts on peak 3-second wind gust exceedance at point locations, settling on Reask Metryc wind footprints, designed with reinsurance-market input to reduce basis risk relative to landfall contracts. Led the partnership with Reask as settlement data provider. First full listing-to-settlement run during Hurricane Isaias (October 2026).
- Daily weather contracts (2025 – Present). Probability and fair-value models for daily high and low temperature contracts, launched in 10 US cities in November 2025 and since expanded to more than 20 US and international cities; terms and conditions for daily peak wind gust, mean wind, precipitation, hail, and thunderstorm-duration contracts.
- Gridded daily weather settlement framework (2026, in development). Daily temperature, wind, and precipitation contracts resolving on the RTMA/URMA analyses at arbitrary locations.
